Wrinkles! We all get them. Staying out of the sun and getting enough sleep is great for your skin but the MOST important thing you can do to prevent, and even reverse, the signs of aging is to EAT well! Yes, your favorite pastime – eating – can help you fight wrinkles. Your skin is going to glow AND you’ll feel better.

Here are my three favorite nutrients you can focus on to fight wrinkles:

Antioxidants, flavonoids, and polyphenols: These help fight environmental damage that can cause wrinkles and help skin cells regenerate. My favorite ways to get these in every day include: one serving of berries, two servings of greens throughout the day and a serving of a bright red or orange food, like a sweet potato or red pepper.

Green tea: One of my fav beverages of all time! Try to get in two cups a day to get in the compound EGCG, a type of antioxidant that helps protect your skin from the sun and has been show to help regenerate skin cells.

Probiotics: The healthy, good bacteria we need for a healthy gut. What’s your gut gotta do with it? A healthy gut helps keep everything healthy – your weight, your immunity and yes, your skin. You’ll find probiotics in fermented foods, so try putting kefir into a smoothie or mix it with herbs to make a creamy salad dressing.
