Okay, so today’s video is all about why I believe moisturizing acne and oil prone skin is important. After years of working with acne and every possible skin type and concern you could imagine, I have noticed that clients with acne-prone skin are severely dehydrated which I believe traps oil, bacteria, and congestion into the skin.

Acne prone skin still needs help with moisture from water-based products and not so much help with oil or lipids. Water hydration plays a huge role in restoring your skin and allowing it to heal quickly. When you strip away the natural oils in your skin the water in your skin will escape causing transdermal water loss which could make your skin sensitized, red, dry, flaky, itchy and wrinkled.

It is important to moisturize acne and oily prone skin with a good moisturizer so that the oil at the bottom layers of your skin can easily flow out of the pores and onto the surface of the skin. When the skin is severely dehydrated and overly dried with blotting papers, setting powder, acne agents and makeup, then the skin has a hard time adjusting to its natural PH and acidity level which is designed to lubricate, balance, hydrate, and protect the skin.
